Day of Rest!

It is Sunday morning, and even though it is a day of rest the body was up at 5am, don't ask me why. As I lay in bed contemplating putting any weight on my feet at all, I heard the light rain fall outside and could not help but to think of the blessing that the good weather has been! Amazing!
But I did get out of bed and boy does it hurt, it feels like walking in ski boots - yes, that stiff, but I will work them loose soon.

Below please find a blog contribution from Nancy Dueck. And all I can say is, Nancy, you are amazing, a real inspiration and a blessing, Not only to this Walk, but to your family and your community around you!

From Nancy

It was my distinct privilege to join Dave & Amber and others on Day 4, Friday, May 22nd. It was a day filled with activity and WALKING!! In the days leading up to the walk my mind kept going to Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago." NLT WOW!! God has planned good works for us to participate in and do for others and here it was, my opportunity to participate to the point of sacrifice on some levels in something that was much bigger than me and really had nothing to do with me!! What an experience and how humbling to know that me, I'm a vessel that God can work through! Praise God.

Thank you to all those that supported me and helped out w
ith the fundraising events. My husband, Terry was behind me all the way, from making time so I could train and feeding the masses, my parents... ALWAYS there when I need them and ready to help any which way they can, Judy Kielstra.... you did so much and your enthusiasm was so encouraging!! Doug & Ann Walters... thanks for your support and generosity and all the others that volunteered! Could not have done this without the support and help! Also a big thank you to those that supported and came along side from my church family! Thank you, thank you!

A HUGE thank you to all those that sponsored me!! It was humbling to see
the generosity that is in the hearts of those that gave! God bless each and everyone!

To Amber & Dave: I'm so proud of you guys for just pressing on! My thoughts went to you this morning as I laid in bed and felt the after effects of yesterday and you were already out there walking!! What you are doing is not for the faint of heart! God has called you and will provide you with everything you need to finish and accomplish the goal.

Phillipians 1:29 & 30 "For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him. We are in this struggle together." Paul is writing to the Phillipians here from prison... Your situation is different however we all have the privilege of trusting in Christ and suffering for him in different ways. Be encouraged, you're not in this alone.
