Yesterday I had the privilege to visit some CH supports across the south west of the prov. And since it was along the walking route, I drove most of the route to mark it off with the GPS, hopefully this will help us find out way.
As I chatted to many people yesterday, I was able to reflect a lot on why are we doing this? This walk is going to be far from exciting and far from glamorous. It will be walk for a day, sleep, get up and do it again, then after that do it again, over and over and over until the end is in sight. But the thing we need to remember is that while this is a time limited walk, life just isn't that simple for some people. Those that we seek to impact with this walk live their lives in the same manor but without a finishline after 2 weeks. In particular I think of the families that help their kids struggle through daily life, experiencing some great challenges, each and every day, and then they get up and do it over and over and over again. It is for these people and their family members that we WALK. Both here at home and around the world. There is no finish line for many. My prayer is that this walk will at least give me a greater appreciation for the daily struggles that so many face, and are all to often ignored by the rest of us! Today, please pray for those families that are getting up this morning and walking their walk, knowing that tomorrow they will get up and do it again. Let's extend a helping hand....
