Blogging from the Road - Day Seven

Good Morning!

It's another awesome day, the sun is shining and temperatures are comfortably cool. Dave and Amber started their day shortly after 6:30am. We no sooner left the car park to drive to the starting point, only to realize that Dave didn't have his GPS on him!! Where is it this time?? We didn't have a potty break yet so it wasnt in a field somewhere!! Wait, is it still on the roof of the van where he put it when getting organized for the day? We pulled over and, low and behold there it was, Amber fetched it off the roof!! A GREAT start.

Shortly after 8am Amber's friend Nancy VanderSchaaf and her son Doug stopped by with a much welcomed Timmies coffee for Amber and a chocolate milk for Dave. Glad someone is looking after satisfying those cravings!! Thanks so much Nancy and Doug, taking the time to stop, pray and show your support means so much!

Hi Dave;

I've read the blog this morning from beginning to end. Wow - what a journey! You are doing a great thing - keeping the lives of the needy and disadvantaged before us and not just talking about it but doing something. Way to walk! I admire your perseverence & courage. Praying for you today!

P.S. Hold on to that GPS

I felt a twinge of guilt as I honked goodbye leaving Amber, Dave & Anita at the car pool in Delaware this morning to face yet another day of endless walking. Their enthusiasm at 6:30 am was very inspiring and was good for me to remember as I sat in my car, sipped my coffee and prepared for another "hard" day at the office.
As Amber's husband I probably know her better than anyone else, so I know how determined she can be. However, when she announced that she was going to walk 325 km, I have to admit I was worried that she may have bit off more than she can chew. She has a way of proving me wrong and it appears she is doing it again. After 5 days and 159 km she is even more determined to finish this walk and I am amazed at how optimistic and excited she is. Clearly her heart is focused on the purpose of this walk and how the funds will improve the lives of those with exceptionalities. Amber has an incredible love for those whom she serves and with every step she takes on this walk, it becomes more evident to me what a special woman she is and what a very special ministry she has. Keep up the good work sweetheart, you amze me! Lenny Baby
